After you sign in to Lab Axiom in your browser, you land on Home. Open Tests from the Home card or the bottom navigation bar. Use the + (Create New Test) button on the Tests list.

1. Click the + (Create New Test) button on the Tests list.
2. Enter the test Name.
3. Enter any additional pertinent information in Note (internal only) (not shown on the COA).
4. Select the Lab that performs or receives the test (external outsource partner when applicable).
5. Enter Price (USD) (amount the customer pays) and Cost (USD) (amount it costs your lab to run the test).
6. Select the Type from your lab's configured test types (for example, Chemistry or Microbiology). Lab administrators manage that list under Lab → Test Types—see Managing test types in Lab Axiom.
7. Select whether the test is a Group of related tests.
8. If the test is grouped, select the member Tests in the group.
9. If the test is not grouped, enter required Turn Around (business days) and Method, plus Minimum Sample Size as needed. Optionally enable Rush available and enter required Rush turn around (business days) when the lab offers expedited turnaround for that test—the rush value must be fewer business days than standard Turn Around (operators toggle Rush per result row in Results—see Entering Test Results in Lab Axiom). Method appears on the COA. To disclose that a result is calculated from customer-provided information, enter Method exactly as By Input (capital B and I)—the COA then marks that result with ‡ and adds the corresponding footnote. 10. If the test is not grouped, enter Reporting Type (Qualitative or Quantitative). For quantitative tests, enter Minimum Reporting Limit, optional Maximum Reporting Limit, and Unit of Measurement (optional).
11. If the test is not grouped, enter the Specification and related values as required.
12. Enter Certificate of Analysis Note (external) (visible to the customer on the COA).
13. Click Save.

Test groups do not have a Turn Around field. When a sample uses a group, Lab Axiom calculates testing due dates from each member test's Turn Around (business days), not from the group itself. See Creating a New Sample in Lab Axiom and Entering Test Results in Lab Axiom.

Edit an existing test

From the Tests list, use the row action Edit Test, or open a test in view mode and choose Edit Test. The same fields are available as when creating a test.
