Lab Axiom keeps a version history for Customers, Samples, Tests, and Labs. Use history to review prior field values or roll a record back to an earlier version. Restore requires the appropriate .restore permission for that module (for example sample.restore).

View history for a record

1. Open the record in view mode (choose Close on the edit form if you are already editing).
2. Click the ⋮ menu on the record header.
3. Choose View {Entity} History (for example View Sample History).

Alternatively, click the history icon next to the Record label below the title (inline with edit and delete controls).

The history list shows one row per saved version with timestamps. The current live version may appear at the top when it matches a history entry.

Restore a specific version

1. From the history list, click Restore this version on the row you want to bring back. Or open a historic version and click Restore this version in the record header.
2. Review the confirmation message and click Restore.
3. On success, Lab Axiom opens the restored record in edit mode.

Restore after delete

When you delete a customer, sample, test, or lab, Lab Axiom navigates to that record's history page. If the live record no longer exists, use the Restore toolbar button at the top of the history page to roll back to the most recent historic version.

For records that still exist, pick a specific version from the history list—do not use the history toolbar Restore button.

What restore does not do

• Customers: Related samples and results are not restored automatically.
• Labs: Related tests are not restored automatically.
• Samples: Related customers and tests must already exist; restore does not recreate related records. Billing and certificate workflows may need manual review after restore.
• Tests: The related lab must already exist; restore does not recreate related records.

Sample restore may partially succeed if some linked results cannot be restored; Lab Axiom shows an error with details when that happens.
