Lab Axiom can email customers when samples are received and when certificates of analysis (COAs) are ready. Configure recipients on each customer record, then send notifications from the Samples list or an individual sample.

Set up contacts and notification preferences

When you create or edit a customer:

1. Expand the Contacts section and add contacts with title, email, and phone as needed.
2. For each contact, optionally select COA Notifications to include that person when COAs are distributed.
3. Optionally select Sample Receipt Notifications to include the contact when the lab confirms sample receipt.

The customer's primary email on the record is also used for some notifications.

Notify that a sample was received

Permission: sample.notify

Single sample

1. Open Samples and open the sample in view mode.
2. When receipt notification is pending, click the Notify Customer control (notification icon) near the Received field.
3. Confirm in the dialog. Lab Axiom emails eligible recipients according to customer and contact settings.

Batch (multiple samples)

1. Open Samples from the bottom navigation bar.
2. Open the page ⋮ menu.
3. Choose Notify Customers of Samples Received when that action is available.
4. Confirm to notify customers for all eligible pending samples.

Notify that COAs are available

Permission: certificate.notify

You can notify customers when you certify a sample (choose notification options on the certify screen) or in batch from the Samples list:

1. Open Samples.
2. Open the page ⋮ menu.
3. Choose Notify Customers of New Certificates when certificates have pending notification status.
4. Confirm to send email for eligible COAs.

Notification status tracks Pending, Sent, Failed, Unpaid, and SkippedNoEmail. See Understanding Certificates of Analysis (COA) in Lab Axiom and Editability of COA in Lab Axiom.
